Cover Lust #33 – The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton
This is all over Goodreads at the moment, and I can see why they’re trying to get this cover out there as much as possible. Because it’s gorgeous.
It’s very simple, with only the single image of the feather on a plain background. The image of the feather is just a line drawing – no depth or shading beyond a little colour variation between yellow and orange. But it works so well because of all that.
I really like the softness of it – echoing the idea of feathers with the gentleness of the image, the font, and the background.
I didn’t even know what the book was about when I first saw this, but I knew I wanted to read it. Perfect cover work!
