Cover Lust #16 – Queen of the Dark Things by C. Robert Cargill
That image really doesn’t do justice to the beauty of this thing in real life. The interweaving images of what I can only assume are various plot elements are beautifully stylised. I love the white line drawings that link everything together, and the few birds that escape the circle are a really nice touch.
The slightly off orange colour is actually shocking red, and it clashes nicely with the deep purple background, like the whole thing is painted in blood. Plus, the fonts look like they’ve been scratched into the cover, with irregular lettering adding a convincing ‘handmade’ feel to the typeface.
It’s just lovely, and I really can’t wait to get stuck into it.
What covers are you lusting after this week?
