Cover Lust #3 – Halo

Cover Lust #3 – Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

Such pretty. Such disappointment between its beautiful covers.

Halo was a classic case of don’t judge a book by the cover. The gorgeous sunset colours, the glint of light framing their faces, the delicate shadow of wings, everything about this cover worked brilliantly, and I remember being desperate to read it. Unfortunately, though some of the writing was close to as beautiful, the story itself was a massive let down.

The second book used many of the same techniques, but without the simplicity of the first cover, resulting in this hot mess:

Interesting how something in the same style can be so right, and then so wrong!
